Company Background -
In December 1991 our managing director Neil Eades began to examine opportunities to own
his own business. Knowing that he wanted to run his own business and finding the right
niche is never straightforward, and he spent many months researching market sectors,
viability, underlying profitability etc.
In the course of this investigation he came across a market survey which concluded that
54% of the 8,500 people interviewed thought they needed some computer training. Encouraged
by this information and with the help of his son who had graduated from University, he set
about devising and sourcing training materials etc. and establishing a training business.
Almost two years later, in November 1993, we opened our training centre in Abingdon, a
small market town in Oxfordshire, and immediately people began to buy our courses. In our
first full year sales amounted to almost £30,000 and in the second year, sales
doubled to just under £60,000. The gross margins are very high. Cash flow is positive.
Private individuals pay in advance and inventory is almost non-existent.
The Franchise -
We now have some fifteen franchisees trading successfully. You too can share in the
success of a proven business.
Our concept is straightforward and easy to understand.
- You do not pay any royalties to Best Training Limited.
- You keep all the fees you receive.
- You can set your own prices.
- You can work whatever hours suit you and your students.
- You get all the help and marketing advice you need.
- You will be constantly updated with revisions to existing training programmes and new
courses to offer.
- You will become a Microsoft Accredited Testing Centre
From your side you need to provide compact office space, preferably reasonably close to
a town centre or, if your home is in a suitable location, you could start from there. You are
required to buy your training materials from us, unless otherwise agreed in writing. For
each student, you purchase a training kit which becomes the student's reference material.
At current prices, the average amount spent with us per student is £370.00 as, on
average, each student buys 2 courses. The average cost of our training kit is only £59 +
VAT + postage and packaging, so you can see that your average profit per enrollment is
around £310.00. Delivering five courses a week will achieve annual sales in the region of
£93,000 at a gross margin of 83%.

above figures.
Benefits For The Student -
The training kit includes a validation test for the student. This is returned to us for
marketing and, if successful, a diploma is issued recognising the student's ability.
According to our records, more than 80% pass at the first attempt, indicating that our
training methods work. Successful completion of a course can lead towards a Microsoft
Certification. And as you probably know Microsoft Diplomas are becoming a benchmark
qualification.
I.T. training is part of the Government's thrust towards people improving their skills.
So much so, that most individuals can receive a contribution of £150 to the cost of
their training.
Research into our student base indicates that there are six reasons that people attend
our training centre:
- They've bought a PC for their own business and so want to learn.
- Corporations are recognising the productivity to be gained by causing all their
employees to be computer literate.
- They have difficulty in using an already purchased computer.
- Security - they want to learn before buying a PC.
- They have a general education need.
- They want to acquire PC skills to enhance their job prospects.
People in your location must have the same need - as do employers. Approximately 50% of
our business comes from the corporate market. Why not join us and, by helping them, help
yourself to a sound business.
