The Franchise.

Mercury Express UK Limited is the largest same-day, light haulage delivery franchise available in the UK today. We offer a full range of freight services. Our services include various international shipments by road, sea and air, next day, pallet, brokerage, international, storage and full distribution services. Our main  product niche however remains the market-place for same-day, light haulage and courier delivery work.

The Operation.

The franchisee has his own exclusive area allocated based on carefully researched postal codes, we give a large area taking into account the growth factor of the business.

We are looking for someone who can run a fleet of up to 10+ vehicles, if you wish to be a "man in a van" we can cater for that scenario in some areas. Your pricing structure is either by hour, mileage or by mutual agreement with your customer.You will have a long wheel-based Ford/Mercedes, capable of carrying a minimum of of 1.7 tons, or 3 euro-pallets. You or your drivers will wear uniforms. Paperwork, invoicing and P.O.D. systems are simplicity itself.

The Investment.

You will need an investment of £18,800 + VAT plus working capital of £8,000 which covers the franchise fee, 3 months use of a pool vehicle , marketing pack, full training and ongoing sales support, uniforms, stationery pack, mobile phone, and fax etc. You would also need to attend a Haz Chem course, it is helpful in increasing business. To help you establish your business no commission is payable by you for the first full 12 months of operation.

TRAINING

Four days' sales training, 1 day practical work, off site help daily for the next 3 weeks. You will have your own personal sales representative and client sales personnell assisting you to build up the business and help with quotations to potential clients. Finding business for you is only part of our support programme. You can also take advantage of our invoice discounting facility (it is similar to factoring but more flexible) which assists you with your cash flow.
